A new photo album published by St. Tikhon’s Monastery Press stunning views of dozens of Orthodox monasteries from throughout America and Canada.
The North American Thebaid: Orthodox Christian Monasteries Across the American Continent is the fruit of years of pilgrimages and dedicated labor from Orthodox photographer Ralph Sidway. The project was initially launched back in 2016.
The final product, 224 pages long, features photographs and a brief summary of more than 30 monasteries, including Holy Trinity (Jordanville, NY), New Skete (Cambridge, NY), Saint Anthony’s (Florence, AZ.), St Herman’s (Platina, CA.), St. Michael’s (Spruce Island, AK), and many more.
It also includes an introduction by Abbess Christophora of the Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguration in Ellwood City, PA, as well as three feature articles by Abbot Sergius of St. Tikhon’s in Waymart, PA, Hieroschemamonk Ambrose (Young), a spiritual child of Fr. Seraphim (Rose), and Abbot Tryphon of All-Merciful Savior on Vashon Island, WA.
