All Saints Antiochian Orthodox Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, announced in a recent social media reel that 50 new catechumens were enrolled on September 14, the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross.
This latest group brings the church’s total number of catechumens to 164. The parish had previously received 38 catechumens in June, and despite celebrating Baptisms in August and receiving 14 individuals on Holy Saturday, the catechumen count has continued to grow.
According to the church schedule, more catechumens are scheduled to be baptized on September 27.
The parish, led by Fr. David Winn, is part of the Antiochian Diocese of Miami and the Southeast and reports over 300 active members who regularly attend worship services and fellowship activities.
All Saints offers a range of ministries including men’s and women’s groups, youth programs, a young adults ministry, and various service-oriented activities. The church also maintains educational programs such as Sunday School and Kid’s Korner, along with liturgical ministries including choir, flower arranging, and prosphora baking.
Additional ministries include a chapter of St. John the Merciful for community outreach, as well as sewing and knitting groups, greeters, and a parish bookstore.
The growth at All Saints reflects a broader trend of increasing interest in Orthodox Christianity across America and the Western world, with thousands joining Orthodox churches in recent years.
