His Grace Bishop Emilianos (Koutouzis), a spiritual child of the great Elder Aimilianos of Simonopetra, led a retreat on spiritual watchfulness at St. Michael Romanian Orthodox Church in Southbridge, Massachusetts, earlier this month.
The retreat, held January 16–18, included the Divine Liturgy on Saturday and Vespers, Matins, and Liturgy for Sunday. Bp. Emilianos’ talks focused on the neptic (watchfulness) tradition of the Orthodox Church and the virtue of humility.
In 2022, Bp. Emilianos gave an interview to OrthoChristian about his experiences with Elder Aimilianos and his teachigns on the neptic tradition.
Geronda Ieronymos, Abbot of the Greek Orthodox Monastery of St. George in NSW, Australia, a spiritual child of Bp. Emilianos, also offered a talk on monastic obedience and obedience in a parish.
Each talk was followed by an in-depth Q&A session.
