A blessed event was celebrated in the Patriarchcate of Alexandria’s Metropolis of Kinshasa this week, as more than 100 were united to Christ in holy Baptism.
The Sacrament was presided over by Metropolitan Theodosius of Kinshasa on Monday, February 2, at the Church of the Presentation of the Lord in the village of Nkaga, reports the Orthodoxia News Agency.
This small village, where houses are constructed from grass and mud, is home to both the Church of the Presentation and the St. Nektarios School, which serve as spiritual and educational beacons for the local community.

In the morning, Met. Theodosius celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the church’s patronal feast, and then together with priests and deacons celebrated the Mystery of Baptism, at which 105 people were received.
After the conclusion of the Baptism, the Metropolitan met with the schoolchildren, addressing them with words of fatherly love and encouragement. At the end of the visit, he distributed gifts to the students, bringing moments of joy and hope to their faces.
