His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem visited and blessed the newly completed premises of the Department for Infants with Incurable Diseases at the Four Homes of Mercy–Siksek Foundation in Bethany, earlier this week.

The visit took place on the morning of Tuesday, June 30. The Patriarch was accompanied by Their Eminences Metropolitan Hesychios of Capitolias and Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, and other clergy, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem reports.

The Foundation was established in 1946 on land donated by Jordan, through the efforts of the late Greek Orthodox benefactress Siksek. Since its founding, it has provided continuous humanitarian care to patients of all ages suffering from incurable illnesses, with particular focus on infants whose medical conditions exceed the capacity of hospitals or their families to provide necessary treatment, rehabilitation, or ongoing care.

During his visit, His Beatitude was given a tour of the new facilities by the Foundation’s former Director, Mrs. Nadia Karaa, and its current Director, Mrs. Diana Minsahouar, in the presence of the Mayor of Bethany and other representatives of the Palestinian Authority.

The Patriarch expressed his appreciation for the Foundation’s dedicated humanitarian service and blessed the completed facilities of the infant care department.

The Foundation’s medical, nursing, and administrative staff, together with the children under its care, thanked His Beatitude for the Patriarchate’s moral and material support, extended both directly and through the contributions of benefactors.

The visit comes about a week after the Patriarch inaugurated a clinic established by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in Gaza.
