Prayers and support are being requested for an Orthodox family whose 18-month-old daughter is battling leukemia.

Eliana Xenia was admitted to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Her hemoglobin level was only 3, and her platelets had dropped to an extremely low 8. She’s since undergone a bone marrow test and started chemotherapy, according to a GoFundMe set up to help the family.

On August 7, Xenia’s heart stopped five times. Doctors managed to restart it each time, though it took longer with every attempt.

Her parents, Paisios and Anysia, are in their early 20s, and Eliana Xenia is their only child. They’re taking turns staying by her side at the hospital while trying to keep up with school, work, rent, bills, and other everyday expenses.

In the GoFundMe appeal, the organizer asks for prayers, asking the Lord to have mercy on Eliana Xenia, strengthen her, and grant her healing according to His will. They’re also asking for prayers for Paisios and Anysia, that God grant them strength, peace, and courage through the ordeal.

Those who wish to help can donate, share the campaign, or keep Eliana Xenia and her family in their prayers.

The campaign has raised $9,945 towards the $20,000 goal as of the time of this writing.
