An Orthodox parish in Show Low, Arizona, is rallying around a family facing a health crisis and financial hardship following the sudden, unexpected birth of their son, and is asking for support to help cover the costs.

Fr. Michael Vallecillo of St. Herman Orthodox Church (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia) in Show Low, Arizona, posted about his struggling parishioners:

I have a couple at my parish who had a baby last week completely unexpectedly and with absolutely no preparation. The mother has health issues that made her believe she would never be able to have children and dismissed the symptoms of pregnancy as being these same health problems. They are absolutely financially unprepared for this surprise. The medical emergency of the delivery where the baby had to be airflighted to Phoenix Children’s along with having to travel there and miss work has caused them further financial hardship and is placing the father’s job in jeopardy as well. Please, in your Christian charity consider donating to this registry the women’s group made for them this week. We are going to help them as much as we can, but any additional help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Baby Ezekiel’s condition has improved significantly (Glory to God!) since he was given an emergency baptism and everyone came together in prayer, but prayers for continued recovery are appreciated as well.

The Amazon registry set up for Justin, Angelica, and baby Ezekiel lists baby essentials, postpartum recovery items, household goods, a diaper fund, and much more.
