Faithtree Resources has announced a new book for Orthodox parents, Raising Orthodox Christians: Focusing on What Matters Most When Everything’s Competing for Your Children, by Cindy and Paul Karos.

Preorders are open now, and the book comes out January 26, 2027, reports the Antiochian Archdiocese.

When their three children were young, the Karoses asked what they could do to help their kids love Christ and the Church for life. They began looking at everyday family decisions, such as school, sports, friendships, technology, money, work, prayer and worship, by asking where the family is headed and whether those choices are moving it toward Christ.

“Cindy and Paul understand the real decisions parents are making every day because they’ve lived them,” says Michelle Moujaes, executive director of Faithtree Resources. “This book is practical, deeply Orthodox, and full of the Church’s timeless wisdom. It helps parents step back from the pressure of getting every decision right and remember what their family is ultimately climbing toward. We’re thrilled to bring it to Orthodox families.”

The book gives parents a framework they can come back to as their children grow and circumstances change. Topics include school, friendships, extracurricular activities, technology, health, money, dating, work and family life. The book also covers the practices of Orthodox family life: the Liturgy, the Sacraments, fasting, prayer, Scripture, compassion and community.

Its stated aim is to help parents raise children whose identity is rooted in Christ, whose faith holds up in hard times and whose sense of purpose goes beyond achievement.

Cindy and Paul have worked with parents and children through ministries in the Antiochian and Greek Orthodox archdioceses. Cindy has been vice chair of the Midwest Diocesan Council and founded several family ministries, including a pan-Orthodox family camp that ran for 20 years. Paul has a master’s degree in applied Orthodox theology, leads men’s retreats and works as a marriage counselor.

Faithtree Press is offering special preorder pricing for parishes that want to carry the book in their bookstores or parent ministries, or distribute it directly to families. For more information, contact info@faithtree.org.
