Cross and Bell Installed at Beslan Cemetery to Commemorate Victims Killed in Terrorist Act

Shrines Made with the Blessing of Patriarch Kirill’s Spiritual Father

An Orthodox cross and bell were set up at the entrance to the memorial cemetery in Beslan to commemorate victims killed in the terrorist act on September 2004.

The shrines were made and installed at the entrance with the blessing of elder Iliy (Nozdrin), spiritual father of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, North Ossetian Administration of Pravoberezhny District told Interfax.

Patron and local resident Vladimir Koroyev brought to the memorial cemetery particles of the relics of the Bethlehem infants, and icons of Jesus Christ and the Holy Virgin from the Kiev-Caves Lavra. Before the installation, monks of the Alanian Assumption Monastery consecrated the cross and the bell.

Now everyone who visits the cemetery can toll the bell to commemorate children killed in September 2004.
