New Orthodox church opens in northern Tajikistan

Sunday saw the first liturgy in a new Orthodox church in Khujand in northern Tajikistan.

The 14-meter-tall church designed by the Moscow architect Viktor Kanayev can house more than 150 worshippers.

It arose on the site of a former wooden church burnt a few years ago.

Another, larger Orthodox church will open in Khujand shortly.
