Ukrainian Army shells Donetsk monastery

Moscow, September 18, 2014

The Convent of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God in Donetsk was shelled last week.


"The Ukrainian military forces are shelling the Convent of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God in Donetsk," reported the press service of the Donetsk Diocese on Thursday. "Churches and buildings of the monastery are being bombed,” reports the site.

None of the administration staff members were injured — the shelling took place during a service when everybody was at the cathedral. The watchman, who was in a utility room nearby, survived by a miracle.
