“A Glorious Pascha” festival to be held in Donetsk

Donetsk, April 6, 2015

On April 13, 2015, with the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion of Donetsk and Mariupol “A Glorious Pascha” (“Paskha Krasnaya”) festival of Orthodox culture is to be held in the city of Donetsk, reports Donbass Pravoslavny (“Orthodox Donbass”).

    

The event will take place on the territory of the park complex of the Centre for Slavic culture (Kuybyshev Street, 67) in the city of Donetsk. The program of the Donetsk residents’ favorite festival will include a festive concert, entertainment for children, educational quiz games, contests, exhibitions, as well as masterclasses in making hand-painted Easter eggs and ringing church bells.

Some of them are almost completely destroyed: for example, the Iveron Convent, the Church of St. John of Kronstadt are in ruins, churches of Makiivka and Ilovaisk are severely damaged. Despite the fact that many churches of the war-torn districts of Donbass are destroyed, the faithful keep praying and are continuing the liturgical life on ruins of their shrines.
