Photo: pravlife.org The Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Synodal Department for Social-Humanitarian Issues continues to provide humanitarian assistance to needy citizens in eastern Ukraine suffering from the military operations there. The Department regularly sends goods to various communities of the uncontrolled territories, reports the departmental website.
On November 24, within the framework of the Mission of Charity and Reconciliation humanitarian project, another two multi-ton trucks filled with cargo arrived to the Theophany Cathedral of the Gorlovka Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The entire load of food and hygiene products was formed into individual sets and is being distributed to the most needy segments of the population, including the disabled, the elderly, the seriously ill, large families, and single parents raising children.
In all, the goods were divided into 3,076 sets with a weight of 23 tons and a value of $46,530 (1,318,550 hyrvnia).
Previously, four trucks with 44 tons of humanitarian aid, including 6,000 kits, were delivered to the Lugansk and Rivne Diocesan centers on August 1 as part of the same Mission of Charity and Reconciliation project.
