Putin may meet with the Pope Francis late in November

Moscow, November 7, 2013

The president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is expected to meet with the Pope Francis late in November.

"The possibility of such a meeting is being worked out as part of the preparation for the visit of the Russian Federation's president to Italy, scheduled for November 25-26," reported the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov on Thursday to Interfax.

Vladimir Putin is expected to take part in the next Russian-Italian intergovernmental consultations, which are to be held in Trieste.
