Raul Castro, president of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of Cuba, met Patriarch Kirill at the airport.
After the ceremony, Patriarch Kirill made a short address to the Cuban people, in which he conveyed the greetings from "all the people of the historical Rus."
"I wish prosperity to the Cuban people and happiness to each individual person. Let God be with you with love and mercy," the head of the Russian Orthodox Church said.
