The social-welfare department of the Kiev Caves-Holy Dormition Lavra is rendering assistance to immigrants from eastern regions of Ukraine and families with several children in need of material and spiritual support, as reported by the Lavra’s site.
The brotherhood of the social-welfare department heartily thanks all not remaining indifferent and calls to sacrifice “as much as you can from your abundance. Believe us, such benevolence, from the whole heart, supports many in need. Let the Lord recompense benefactors with His mercy and support in all their good endeavors!” emphasized the monks.
The Lavra inhabitants gave their charges from the Kiev region—settlers from eastern regions of Ukraine and families with many children—icons, food packages, candy and sweets, as well as some odds and ends useful in everyday life. All were grateful for the attention and help and that they constantly feel the prayers and material help of the brothers of the holy habitation.
The brotherhood also constantly sends donations to one mother with two young children who is expecting a third. They send her clothes, shoes, and sets of food, and whatever they have in existing donations that would be useful to the family at any given moment.
The social-welfare department of the Lavra requests of all concerned to help with clothes, shoes, medicines, stationery, hygiene products (diapers for children), and to provide financial support to those in their care.
