Another Romanian monastery has taken up the blessed task of providing a home to a struggling family. Last month, it was reported that Hadâmbu Monastery in Schitu Hadâmbului, Iaşi County is building a house for a 10-children family.
According to statements on the monastery’s Facebook page, a similar project of the Valea Bistrei Monastery of Sts. Ilie Iorest and Sava Brancovici is also well underway. This time a house is being built for a family with 7 children, aged 7 to 15, and limited material means.
The monastery announced the project in August, noting that it was undertaken with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Irineu of Alba Iulia. The monastery asked for funds from any who wanted to help, and on November 3, it announced that the main structure of the house has been erected, and work is underway on the roof.

The house is scheduled to be finished in the coming year.
In a similar story, the parish communities in Bărcu-Goşmani in Bacău County and Münster, Germany teamed up to provide a home for two sisters with health problems who lost their old home in a fire, reports Doxologia.
The house was consecrated last week by Fr. Mihai Macovei and Fr. Gheorghe Ursache, who has been the priest in Bărcu-Goşmani for more than 30 years.
The house is equipped with all the necessities for daily living, including furniture, commented Fr. Mihai.
Construction on the house began earlier this year, with funds from the parish in Germany, the local faithful, Fr. Gheorge’s relatives, and the local city hall.
“We felt it was important to show our love and Christian mercy to those in need, because the two sisters were unable to raise a home alone,” said Fr. Gheorge.
In October, OrthoChristian reported that the Church of St. Nicholas in Belceşti in Iași County and the Church of Sts. Constantine and Helen in Straubing, Germany built a house for an elderly couple that had been living in a house that was collapsing.
Additionally, in 2017, Fr. Petru Gavriloaia built and donated a new home to a family with nine children in Timișești, Neamț County. Last year, faithful from the northwestern Romanian villages of Paleu and Oşorhei took up a collection over the course of the previous year to buy a home for a family with 9 children from the nearby village of Parhida.
