Tomorrow, March 25, the new calendar feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Orthodox Church in America will launch its new “All-OCA Church School,” in an effort to spiritually nourish its children parishioners at a time when many are unable to attend services.

“We are all looking for ways to help our neighbor, ways to cope, and ways to retain some sense of normalcy in our lives. During this time our web team will be doubling our efforts to bring you interesting and helpful content to help keep you and your families focused on the path to Pascha,” the announcement on the OCA’s official website reads.

The OCA has already compiled a number of resources concerning the coronavirus outbreak, including Holy Synod and diocesan statements, liturgical and spiritual resources, including the Moleben Sung in Time of Devastating Epidemic and Deathbearing Pestilence and a Reader’s Service of Prayer for Protection from the Coronavirus and much more, and resources for families and individuals, including a tutorial for learning the 8 tones, free virtual field trips, and much more.

The new virtual Church School will launch tomorrow at 3:30 PM Eastern, with a team of teachers from across the OCA. There will be classes for grades 3-5, grades 6-8, and grades 9-12.

Go to the online Zoom classroom to join in the All-OCA Church School. No prior registration is required.

The OCA abandoned parishioners at a time when they needed the Liturgy and the Holy Mysteries the most...during Great Lent no less! I will have a difficult time worshipping in an OCA Church again when the virus is gone.
