Olga Kulikovskaya-Romanova, the widow of the nephew of Royal Martyr Nicholas II, Tikhon Romanov, reposed in the Lord on Saturday, May 2, at the age of 93, reports the Ekaterinburg Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
She died at her home in Balashikha, near Moscow, reports E1.RU. The cause of death is unspecified.
“The Ekaterinburg Metropolia expresses its deep condolences on the death of Olga Nikolaevna Kulikovskaya-Romanova, the widow of Tikhon Nikolaevich, the son of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna [the sister of Tsar Nicholas II—Ed.], the nephew of the last Russian Tsar Nicholas Alexandrovich,” the message reads.
She devoted her life to acts of mercy and charitable work, heading a charitable foundation for many years. As a regular participant in the Royal Days celebrations around the feast day of the Royal Martyrs on July 17, she led spiritual and educational activities about their lives and holy deaths, the Church reports.
“Having left this world on the eve of the feast of the Myrrh-bearing Women, Olga Nikolaevna will remain in our hearts and in the memory of her contemporaries a sincerely believing person, whose heart burned with love for the Lord and the Holy Royal Passion-bearers,” reads the condolences.

Olga Nikolaevna was born in 1926 in exile in Yugoslavia, in the family of a nobleman and officer of the Imperial Army Nikolai Nikolaevich Pupinin.
She graduated from the Marinsky Donsky Institute for Noble Maidens, which was evacuated during the civil war from Novocherkassk to Bela Crkva, Yugoslavia. During the Second World War, she was interned in Germany where she worked in a factory and survived the bombing of citizens. She later moved to South America, where she received a medical, business, and architectural education.
She spoke seven languages and later moved to Canada to work in government agencies. It is there that she met Tikhon Nikolaevich Romanov, the nephew of Tsar Nicholas.
In 1991, together with her husband, she founded the charitable organization Program of Assistance to Russia, named after her mother-in-law, the Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna. She began frequently visiting Russia to help hospitals, shelters, organizations, and individuals.
After the death of her husband in 1993, she became the head of the foundation, sending several millions of dollars’ worth of medical equipment and basic necessities to Russia.
