Our Pharisees are the media—often funded by the government—and the social media.
The world—not every person, but the fallen world in general—does not want anything to do with Christ, Whom it crucified.
As we can see, while partisanship is forbidden to the clergy, active participation in civic life—by both clergy and laity—for the welfare of the faithful and the preservation of the freedom of the Church is not only permitted, but commanded by the example of the saints.
It would be foolish to believe an inquirer into the Orthodox faith could successfully make spiritual progress while immersed in a cannabis addiction which undermines prayer, intensifies fantasy, and introduces spiritual confusion into the mind of the spiritual novice.
Here, we will discuss five major lessons of the coronavirus for the spiritual lives of the faithful, and for the life of the Orthodox Church as a whole.
