Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece was released from the hospital from the Evangelismos Hospital in Athens yesterday, where he had been treated for the coronavirus.

After a number of examinations, the doctors were pleased with his state of health and approved him to leave the hospital early yesterday afternoon, reports Romfea.

The Archbishop was hospitalized on November 19 after he tested positive for the coronavirus. After leaving the hospital, he returned to the Archdiocese of Athens, where he will remain under doctor supervision.

He later made a statement saying that he prays for all people without exception, and that we will overcome the pandemic with the help of God and science.

He also thanked all the doctors and nurses and hospital staff who labor to protect and save many who are sick, and all who prayed for him.

The Archbishop also revealed that he was very scared and in a lot of pain as he battled his sickness. However, he prepared himself for all outcomes and put his fate in God’s hands, he says.

In conclusion, the head of the Church of Greece asks all to observe the rules and measures implemented by the competent state health authorities.

Archbishop Anastasios of Albania was released from the same hospital on November 23, though he got a fever again soon after returning home.
