Archimandrite Agathon, the former abbot of the Holy Monastery of Konstamonitou, one of the 20 ruling monasteries of Mt. Athos, reposed in the Lord on Monday, reports Vima Orthodoxias.

Fr. Agathon was a spiritual child of Elder Ephraim of Philotheou and Arizona, who sent him along with other Philotheou fathers to repopulate Konstamonitou Monastery in 1979. He served as abbot until he resigned in 2018 due to his deteriorating health, reports Ekklesia Online.
