The architectural ensemble of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra in Sergiev Posad was included in the State Code of Especially Valuable Objects of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation.

This status means the Lavra is assigned the highest category of protection and accounting, which implies special forms of state support, reports the Lavra website.

Highly valuable objects of cultural heritage include historical, cultural, and natural complexes, architectural ensembles and structures, and other objects of material, intellectual, and artistic value of a unique character from the point of view of history, archaeology, culture, architecture, science, and art.

In April, an English-language victual tour of the Lavra was launched online.
