The government’s proposed agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church on the protection of its holy sites is “evil,” believes Miraš Dedeić, the head of the schismatic “Montenegrin Orthodox Church.”
Like many schisamtic “hierarchs,” Dedeić was defrocked and anathematized by the canonical Orthodox Church.
The “Metropolitan” called upon his followers to fight against the state’s intention to enter into an agreement with the Serbian Church, which is by far the largest religious organization in the Balkan state. Unlike in Ukraine and Macedonia, the schismatics in Montenegro are numerically insignificant.
In particular, Dedeić called on his supporters and “all citizens to resist this evil before the evil reaches us,” reports Politnavigator, with reference to the RTCG TV channel.
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić tweeted on Sunday that the government is ready to sign an agreement with the Serbian Church and will do so soon. The state has already had analogous agreements with the Catholics, Jews, and Muslims since 2012.
“The current government continues the tradition of the Karađorđević Dynasty, which in 1918 destroyed both Montenegro and the Montenegrin name, and abolished the Montenegrin Church, recognized by all Orthodox Churches, including the Serbian one,” the schismatic head said.
The Serbian Church “incites inter-religious and inter-ethnic hatred in Bosnia and encourages criminals to attack everything human,” Dedeić accuses.
The schismatic head believes that the Serbian Church “intends to infiltrate all the churches and monasteries of our ancestors in order to incite hatred against the Montenegrins and all other inhabitants of Montenegro.”
Meanwhile, in the absence of an agreement with the Serbian Church, the government under President Milo Đukanović, who openly supports the miniscule “Montenegrin Orthodox Church,” passed a law giving itself the authority to seize properties that have belonged to the Serbian Church for centuries. The new government, which took power in December, quickly amended the law to make all religious organizations equal before the state.

Dedeić was originally a priest of the Serbian Church, but was defrocked due to moral failings. He was sheltered by the Patriarchate of Constantinople and sent to Rome, where he was suspended by Constantinople for adultery, embezzlement, and creating a separate Serbian community within his Greek parish.
He was then tonsured as a monk and elevated to the rank of archimandrite by the schismatic “Macedonian Orthodox Church” and consecrated as a bishop by the schismatic “Bulgarian Alternative Orthodox Church,” after which he took over the “Montenegrin Orthodox Church.”
In 1997, he was excommunicated by the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
