St. Nektarios film wins one of most important awards at Moscow Film Festival (+VIDEO)

Yelena Popovic’s much-anticipated film about St. Nektarios the Wonderworker, Man of God, made its international premier at the 43rd Moscow International Film Festival late last month, where it claimed one of the most coveted prizes.

The film was honored with the Audience Award, reports the Festival’s press service.

The award is considered one of the most important of the festival prizes, and is a “confirmation of the extremely warm reception [the film] received by the audience and critics during its well-attended in-person premiere,” writes Neos Kosmos.

Man of God will also be part of the Los Angeles Greek Films Festival later this month, which will offer two screenings of the film online. Learn more about the screenings here

Man of God is a production of Simeon Entertainment in cooperation with Vatopedi Monastery on Mt. Athos and the St. Maximos the Greek Institute. The official trailer for the film was released last month:
