The Ukrainian Orthodox Church will hold its All-Ukrainian procession on July 27, the eve of the Day of the Baptism of Rus’, this year.
The event, held annually on the eve of the feast of St. Vladimir the Great, the Baptizer of Rus’, unfortunately had to be canceled last year due to the COVID pandemic, but the Church intends to resume this blessed practice this year, reports Pravblog.
“We hope that on July 27, the Ukrainian Orthodox church will be able to holds its traditional cross procession in honor of the Day of the Baptism of Rus’ in Kiev,” His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, the Chancellor of the UOC commented to Klymenko Time.
“We hope that, as in previous years, people from all regions of Ukraine will come to the capital to pray together for peace, as well as the well-being of our native land and our people,” he added.
The procession will begin with a moleben on Vladimir Hill in Kiev at 1:00 PM, after which the faithful will process to the Kiev Caves Lavra.
A record 300,000+ faithful participated in the procession in 2019.
