Odessa, Ukraine, August 30, 2021
A few thousand Orthodox faithful took to the streets of Odessa on Saturday in support of traditional family values.
The procession took place on the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, who is the loving Mother of all Orthodox Christians and a great defender of families.
The LGBT community of Odessa blasphemously also chose the feast of the Mother of God as the day for their pride march.
With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, more than 3,000 Orthodox faithful made their way from Holy Transfiguration Cathedral along the central city streets under the slogan, “WE’RE FOR OUR FAMILY VALUES,” reports the Odessa Diocese.
At the end of the march, the participants enjoyed a concert program, a performance by the Peacemakers Choir, and entertainment for children.
The LGBT Pride March 2021 ended in brawls and arrests after the right-wing group Tradition and Order showed up and threw tear gas and attacked a bus with LGBT representations. 29 law enforcement officers were injured and 51 people were arrested.
