New mosaics visible in Romanian National Cathedral altar as scaffolding removed (+PHOTOS)

The dismantling of the scaffolding that was erected to install the mosaics in the altar of the Romanian Orthodox Church’s National Cathedral in Bucharest has begun, thus providing a better view of the Biblical scenes and saints that adorn the sacred space.

  

The foundation stone for the cathedral, also known as the Romanian People’s Salvation Cathedral, was laid on November 29, 2007. 11 years later, in November 2018, the church was consecrated by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania together with Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople.
