The Church marks the feast of St. Nektarios the Wonderworker of Aegina today on the new calendar. St. Nektarios is one of the greatest saints of the 20th century and one of the most beloved saints among the Orthodox faithful today.
Thus, hundreds of pilgrims flocked yesterday and today to the Holy Trinity-St. Nektarios Monastery on the island of Aegina that he founded, where he lived and reposed, and where his relics are treasured today, to venerate his precious relics and to honor the memory of the saint.
Great Vespers was celebrated by Metropolitan Konstantinos of Androusa with Metropolitan Kallinikos of Paranoxia and the local hierarch Metropolitan Ephraim of Hydra, Spetses, and Aegina, reports the Orthodoxia News Agency.
Orthros and Liturgy this morning were presided over by Met. Kallinikos, together with Met. Konstantinos and Met. Ephraim.
