New York City, November 22, 2021
Orthodox Christians Pro-Life will hold a rally in the very center of Manhattan on December 1 to support the overturning Roe v. Wade that could happen during the Supreme Court’s hearings.
That day, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson, a case that legal scholars on both sides of the aisle agree could overturn Roe v. Wade and send abortion policy back to the states. On that day, pro-lifers across the country will hold rallies and prayer vigils at federal buildings, court houses, and other public places as part of the OverturnRoe campaign.
The Society believes that at this historical moment Orthodox Christians should step up their efforts towards the legal protection of the lives of the unborn. Information on how to find an OverturnRoe rally or to host a rally is available online.
Concerned Orthodox Christians have a very good opportunity now to form pro-life groups in their cities. An OverturnRoe team will mail them signs and brochures. Everyone is free to use the name Orthodox Christians Pro-Life for newly established groups or to pick any different name. Now is the time for Orthodox Christians to take the initiative and witness to our communities the truth about abortion coming from the Church of the Apostles.
The December 1st rally in Manhattan will start at 3:30 PM in front of the New York Public Library at 476 5th Ave., New York, NY 10018.
Last Saturday, November 20, Orthodox Christians Pro-Life prayed near the Dr. Emily Women's Health Center abortuary in the Bronx. The atmosphere was very positive. Some passersby showed their support, and some asked questions.

Coincidentally, November 20 is the anniversary of the legalization of abortions in Russia in 1920 by the Communists. At that time, the murder of unborn babies was illegal throughout the entire world, and the godless revolutionaries were the first who allowed it.
November 20 is also the anniversary of the martyrdom of Fr. Daniel Sysoev, who powerfully reminds us with his sermons that Orthodox Christians must stand for the complete and unconditional ban on abortion.
A group of young adults from St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean Township, New Jersey, joined the prayerful pro-life witness that day. They recorded a short video.
Orthodox Christians Pro-Life will also hold prayerful witness in front of another abortuary on Saturday, December 4. On that day with the blessing of Their Eminences Archbishops Paul of Chicago and the Midwest and Michael of New York and New Jersey, a moleben for an end to abortion will be served by Fr. Mark Hodges from Ohio.

Previously, in September the group held a moleben near an abortion “clinic” in Queens—one of the oldest abortuaries in the U.S. Just a few days ago another local pro-life group won the right to protest near this particular abortuary after four and half years of unjustified prosecution by the state of New York for false allegations of threats and violence outside of a Queens abortion facility. On November 16, 2021, the state filed a stipulation of voluntary dismissal in federal district court, dropping all charges.
Besides the street protests, Orthodox Christians Pro-Life is working on educational videos, which will be presented in 1-2 months.
They also donate to pregnant women in need. For example, a donation was made to an Albanian family which expects a baby, a baby carriage was bought for a pregnant women who lost almost everything in a fire, and support was provided for EMC Pregnancy Centers in New York which are having a difficult time now. The organization provides counseling, pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, and essential goods in different New York boroughs.
Those who want to participate in the prayer services on December 4 should send their names, a parish name (if there is any) and contact information via email to info@OrthodoxChristiansProLife.Org or text to 917-428-3560. Everyone is welcome to come to the rally on December 1 without a notification, but those who want to be speakers should also contact the Society in advance.
