Abbot of Lebanon’s Hamatoura Monastery reposes in the Lord (+VIDEO)

Archimandrite Panteleimon, abbot of the beloved Hamatoura Monastery in northwestern Lebanon, reposed in the Lord yesterday, Sunday, November 28.

The news was announced by His Eminence Metropolitan Silouan of Byblos and Mt. Lebanon.

Fr. Panteleimon was the spiritual father for many Arabic-speaking Orthodox Christians, and was distinguished for his training in Church music and his chanting skills. He spent the last few years on the Holy Mountain, where he will be buried.

A memorial Liturgy was served at Hamatoura this morning:

According to Met. Silouan’s announcement, Fr. Panteleimon will be buried on the Holy Mountain.
