The Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church received some very special guests at the Patriarchal residence in Bucharest on Wednesday, when a choir from the capital city’s Down Plus Association performed Christmas carols for him.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel blessed the young people who have Down syndrome and thanked them for their performance.

“You sang very beautifully and conveyed joy, as the song said, especially since we are here in Bucharest, which means the City of Joy, and here, the Patriarch’s Hill has been called the Hill of Joy in recent years,” the Patriarch told the carolers, reports the Basilica News Agency.

“And you have increased your own joy by being here singing carols,” the Romanian primate added, wishing them a blessed feast of the Nativity and a happy New Year.
