Unknown perpetrators decided to greet the new year with an act of vandalism against a church in Athens.

An explosion occurred outside the Church of St. Paul near Larissa Station just after the calendar change, at about 12:30 AM, reports protothema.gr.

The explosion, caused by ten gas canisters placed outside the church, caused minor material damage, such as blackened spots on the church steps.

In 2018, two people were wounded in a small explosion outside another Athens church.

The Christian Orthodox history of ancient repeat itself. Nobody can win by destroying buildings, fear the one who destroys the body and soul. Amen
