Body of missing Athonite monk found on island shore

The body of an Athonite monk who disappeared last month has been found and identified.

Fr. Euphrosynos, 58, went missing when he took a fishing boat out on Monday, December 20. The Greek Coast Guard undertook a search for him.

Finally, the body of Fr. Euphrosynos was found on Tuesday, January 11, on the shore of the Greek island of Skopelos, 74 nautical miles from Mt. Athos, reports Ekklisia Online.

The body was identified by his brother. Fr. Euphrosysnos was a monk of the Cell of St. Isaac of the Serbian Hilandar Monastery.
