The Coast Guard is currently searching for a 58-year-old Athonite monk who has been missing for several days now, reports Romfea.

The monk went missing when he went out on a fishing boat on Monday. The Coast Guard was informed of his disappearance yesterday.

In January 2017, a Ukrainian monk, Fr. David, went missing, and his body was later found frozen in the snow near Philotheou Monasery. In November 2018, a 61-year-old man went missing on Mt. Athos, leaving a note saying he was dedicating his life to the Theotokos.

UPDATE: According to Vima Orthodoxias, the missing monk's name is Euphrosynos.
