Romania

His Eminence Metropolitan Ioan of Banat donated $1,150 to two families whose houses burned down recently.

“We will thus buy the necessities and food for the suffering children. We can’t do it alone! Only together can we wipe away their tears,” appealed Archpriest Ioan Bârgăoanu on behalf of Met. Ioan.

Yesterday, OrthoChristian reported that Met. Ioan spent his name’s day having a feast with the local homeless.

Moldova

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Vladimir of Chișinău, the Social Department of the Church of Moldova (Moscow Patriarchate) held a charity drive to give gifts, toys, and fruit to more than 200 children with physical and mental disabilities, autism, and Down Syndrome, and their families and teachers.

Russia

A new Church-run humanitarian aid center was opened in the city of Almetyevsk, Republic of Tatarstan, by His Eminence Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan and His Eminence Metropolitan Methodiy of Almetyevsk.

The center provides clothing and food assistance to all those in need.

And in Kazakhstan, the Social Department of the Diocese of Alma-Ata donated more than 1,000 food packages to families with many children, the homeless, the elderly, and people with disabilities during the unrest there.
