Prayers requested for Athonite brotherhood of St. Modestos

Prayers are requested for Hieromonk Abraham (Orlov), the abbot of the Kellia of St. Modestos on Mt. Athos, and the entire brotherhood.

According to the Athos Bulletin Telegram channel, the abbot was taken to the hospital, near the point of death, and the rest of the brethren are also in serious condition, suffering from COVID for several days now.

In addition to Fr. Abraham, prayers are requested for:

  • Hieromonk Chrisanth

  • Hieromonk Aristarkh

  • Monk Kukshi

  • Monk Spyridon

  • Monk Joseph

  • Monk Titus

  • Monk Amfian

  • And Monk Pachomy

The Penza Diocese repeatedly offered to send priests to various hospitals to minister to patients, but the hospitals refused. Finally, on December 4, 2020, Fr. Viktor was allowed to begin visiting patients at one local hospital. He simply trusted God, not thinking about whether or not he’d get infected.
