On January 30, the first Liturgy in 100 years was celebrated in the oldest church of a Ukrainian higher educational institution.

The church at Kharkov National University is dedicated to St. Anthony the Great, and His Eminence Metropolitan Onuphry of Kharkov of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church celebrated the feast of St. Anthony, with the first Liturgy there in a century, reports the Kharkov Diocese.

Following the prayer behind the ambo, the Metropolitan and concelebrating clergy served a moleben to St. Anthony.

The university church was built almost 200 years ago. Services ceased with the advent of the Bolshevik government. The parish community was revived in the 90s, and a temporary worship space was consecrated at the school.

In September, the Old Rite Edinoverie Church of St. Peter of Moscow in the Moscow Province had its first Divine Liturgy in 100 years.
