A procession with wonderworking icons and relics was held around the Ukrainian city of Vinnitsa on Saturday, led by the local Ukrainian hierarch.

Together with local clergy, His Eminence Metropolitan Barsanuphius held a moleben for peace in Ukraine, and then went around the city by car with wonderworking icons of the Kazan Mother of God and St. Spyridon, and relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the diocese reports.

Watch a video of the procession:

A procession was earlier held in Odessa on February 25, with the wonderworking Kasperov Icon of the Mother of God, led by His Eminence Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa, together with His Eminence Archbishop Diodore of Yuzhno and His Eminence Archbishop Viktor of Artsyz.

The procession began with an Akathist to the Mother of God prayed in front of her icon. Prayers were then offered in chapels and at memorial crosses on the outskirts of Odessa, and the hierarchs and clergy blessed the city with the icon, and sprinkled it with holy water.

I used to brag to people I knew that Pres. Putin was a devout Orthodox Christian. That he wanted Russia to return to her past under Peter the Great. That Russia has been reborn Now, I am ashamed. Seeing young Russian Orthodox fighting Ukrainian Orthodox is one of the saddest moments in Church history. I can only send prayers for peace.
