A rock slide caused serious damage at the Athonite Little St. Anne’s Skete last week.
Photo: orthodoxianewsagency.gr According to a letter from the skete’s Holy Dormition Kallyvia, the incident occurred at about 5:30 PM on May 9. The letter is published by the Orthodoxia News Agency.
“A huge rock was detached from the holy Church of the Cave of the Holy Fathers Dionysios the Rhetorician and Mitrophanes, who were the first ascetics in the area of Little St. Anne’s in the 16th century,” the letter reads.
“The cost of the repairs to this historic cave church, but especially of the retaining works is enormous,” the kallyvia writes, thus entreating any possible material help.
