Czech President Milos Zeman spoke on Tuesday against the registration of same-sex marriages in the Czech Republic. He made this statement at a meeting with journalists.
“A family is a union of a man and a woman,” Zeman stressed. He said that he would not sign the bill on same-sex marriage submitted to parliament if it was approved by deputies, reports Pravoslavie.ru, citing TASS.
The bill was submitted to Parliament by factions of four of the five political parties of the current government coalition of the Czech Republic. The document provides for the provision by the state of the same-sex spouses with the same rights and obligations as those of different sexes, including the adoption and upbringing of children.
