Fire leaves Georgian nuns without a roof over their heads as winter approaches

The nuns of the Monastery of St. Tamar in Shindisi, Georgia, are asking for help after a fire seriously damaged the building where they live and pray.

The fire broke out on Tuesday morning, completely destroying the roof at the monastery located just outside of Tbilisi.

“We’re left in the open air just before winter,” writes Fr. Adami (Akhaladze), the monastery’s spiritual father.

But, “Thanks to the Lord, all the holy things that are kept in the monastery survived both fire and water. Praise and thanks to the Lord for everything!”

In addition to the nuns’ cells, the building also houses a chapel, a church in the attic, and the trapeza.

“All these years, we’ve never asked for help to solve any of the problems that we have in abundance in the monastery,” writes Fr. Adami, but the need to fix the roof is urgent, he emphasizes, with winter fast approaching.

The monastery is holding a charity sale today and Sunday after Liturgy to raise funds towards the restoration of the roof.

Yes, I faced the sabe problem. It says that the IBAN is not valid.

Yes, we've also been informed by other sources that there is a problem with transfers to that bank. We'll try to inform the monastery if possible.

It seems like London Bank SWIFT appears to be invalid when attempting to make a transfer.

Just went to my bank immediately to do a wire transfer. DOESN'T WORK. The banker tried direct entry of the $ information. She says that the "Intermediary Bank" entry (in addition to what's already there) needs to list::: a) Routing Number; 2) Account Number; 3) Address. Please ask article originators to furnish that info, and update the article above. Thanks, Afanassy ================
