Ukrainian authorities continue their attacks on the brotherhood of the Holy Dormition-Kiev Caves Lavra.
The canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church was recently deprived of the right to use the main cathedrals of the state-owned Upper Lavra, while the schismatics of the “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” were allowed to celebrate the feasts of the Nativity and Theophany there.
And of course, if nationalist politicians and the schismatics get their way, the Church will be completely kicked out of the entire Lavra.
The abbot of the monastery, His Eminence Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl has already been personally sanctioned by order of the President, and now a criminal case has been opened against him for his position against the graceless shismatics.
According to People’s Deputy Yaroslav Yurchishin, the case was opened on Tuesday, January 17, under the criminal code article on the “Violation of the equal rights of citizens based on their race, nationality, or religion.”
The Metropolitan’s speech on the feast of the Nativity “sowed discord among the faithful,” the Deputy claims, and the General Prosecutor’s office agreed with him and opened a case.
He quotes His Eminence as saying:
The Holy Dormition Cathedral was given to a schismatic and self-consecrated one. The schismatic is Philaret and the self-consecrated is Epiphany. They tell me to commemorate Epiphany. What? A schismatic? All “abomination” began with Philaret.
Today, the “powerful Herods” reject Christ, killing not 14,000 babies, but millions of people. How wisely the devil did everything. Under the guise of unification, they began persecuting the Church. They want to destroy Alexander Nevsky. This is a group of godless bandits who are waging an open war against the Church. The main thing for them is not the war. The main thing is to destroy the Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. That is, to turn you and I away from Christ.
