A splendid new mosaic of Elder Ephraim, the beloved spiritual father to thousands around the world, was recently installed at his tomb.
Elder Ephraim began his monastic life as a spiritual child of the great St. Joseph the Hesychast. He later became abbot of Philotheou Monastery and helped to repopulate a number of other Athonite monasteries, in addition to founding numerous new monasteries in Greece and North America.

The Elder spent the last decades of his life at St. Anthony’s Monastery in Florence, Arizona, where he reposed in the Lord on December 7, 2019.
During his lifetime, he was widely regarded as one of if not the holiest elder alive, and his veneration has only spread since his repose.
