On Saturday, May 6, His Eminence Archbishop Juraj of Michalovce and Košice welcomed His Eminence Metropolitan Petar of Prespa and Pelagonia to his Cathedral of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in Košice where they concelebrated the Liturgy, reports BPM Košice.

That evening, the two hierarchs served Vespers at the Cathedral of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Michalovce. Afterwards, both expressed their gratitude to God for the ability to concelebrate together after 55 years of schism. In February, the Holy Synod of the Czech-Slovak Church formally recognized the canonicity and autocephaly granted to the Macedonian Orthodox Church by the Serbian Orthodox Church in June 2022.

That evening, the hierarchs visited the pilgrimage church in Nižná Rybnica and venerated the Icon of the Mother of God of Nižná Rybnica and Klokočovská.
