The Russian Orthodox Church opened its first shelter for pregnant women and struggling mothers in Tver earlier this week.

The “Mom’s House” shelter was blessed and opened on Tuesday, June 6, by His Eminence Metropolitan Ambrose of Tver and His Grace Bishop Panteleimon of Verey, the Chairman of the Synodal Department for Charity and Social Service. The event took place before the start of the XIV Interregional Conference on the Social Service of the Russian Orthodox Church, reports the Charity Department.
