The Orthodox Church in America will consecrate a new bishop for its Albanian Archdiocese in Boston next month.

The previous hierarch, Archbishop Nikon, reposed in the Lord in September 2019. In October 2022, clergy and lay representatives of the Archdiocese, which consists of 11 parishes mainly scattered throughout New England, voted for Archimandrite Nikodhim (Preston) as their next hierarch. In April of this year, the OCA Holy Synod formally approved Fr. Nikodhim as Bishop-elect.

According to a recent announcement from the Albanian Archdiocese, Fr. Nikodhim will be consecrated as a bishop on Saturday, September 16, at St. George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral in Boston.

Matins will be served at 9 AM, followed by the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and consecration at 10 AM.

The cathedral will host a luncheon following the service.
