30,000 children from Romania, Moldova, and diaspora receiving backpacks and school supplies

Tens of thousands of children are ready for school this year thanks to the charity project of Boris Volosatîi, the vice president of the Commission for Romanian Communities Beyond the Borders of the Romanian Parliament.

Thanks to the efforts of Volosatîi and his team, the Ghiozdănelul charity initiative is providing backpacks and school supplies to 30,000 children from needy families in Romania, Moldova, and the Romanian diaspora, reports the Basilica News Agency.

The supplies are being distributed to families, schools, refugee placement centers, and churches of the Romanian Patriarchate’s Metropolis of Bessarabia in Moldova.

“The purpose of this campaign is to bring a touch of joy and support into the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds,” writes the Romanian Church’s Archdiocese of Chișinău.

Last week, OrthoChristian reported that His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine distributed backpacks with school supplies to hundreds of children.

The project of public collection of goods aims to create a local mechanism for social solidarity by redistributing the goods to people in difficult life situations and was implemented by five donations boxes located throughout Chișinău.
