Six adults were baptized into Christ at the Church of St. Elisabeth in Wallasey on the feast of the Baptism of Christ, reports the Diocese of the Great Britain and Western Europe of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.

The Baptismal Liturgy was celebrated by Archpriest Paul Elliott, rector of the church and chancellor of the diocese, together with Archpriest Vyacheslav Lyahovsky, Hieromonk Theodore (visiting from Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York), and Fr. Justin Venn.

The diocese reports:

The six adults who received Holy Baptism have been regular members of the congregation during their period as catechumens, and are now able to take a full part in the sacramental life of the ever-growing parish. The joy of the feast and of the occasion of their Baptism was augmented by the presence for the services of visitors from the London Cathedral, Jordanville, Mettingham and elsewhere, including family and friends of the newly-illumined.

On the same day, Fr. Paul enrolled another catechumen who thus joined the next group preparing for Holy Baptism.

Following the Liturgy, a breakfast was offered by the parish sisterhood.
