Laos: Orthodox services to be held in capital on regular basis

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Sergei of Singapore, the Moscow Patriarchate’s Exarch of Southeast Asia, regular services are now being held in the country of Laos.

The first service in the new house church of the parish of St. Alexander Nevsky in the capital city of Vientiane was held on Sunday, February 4, the Exarchate reports.

From now on, services will be held on a regular basis, and there are plans to build an Orthodox church in the capital.

The parish community of St. Alexander Nevsky was established in September 2022. Previously, services were held by visiting priests in the homes of the faithful.
